Code of Conduct for swimmers and parents

As part of our ongoing Welfare policy we would like to remind Swimmers and Parents of the ASA and Clubs Code of Conduct. For swimmers this relates to General behaviour as well as swimming training and competitions.  If either parents or swimmers believe they have not signed this document please contact the clubs Welfare Officer or Club secretary and these can be collected at a training session.

BHSC BannerWe are a competitive swimming club based in North West Bristol. We hold training sessions at Clifton High School in Bristol and at the new Horfield Leisure Centre pool. We are affiliated to the Gloucester County ASA and we are a Swim21 accredited club.

We run a large swim school for children, there is no hard and fast rule about age but the youngest are around six and are able to get changed independently. Then depending on ability, swimmers may progress through a development squad to the competition squads. BHSC

Our competitive season starts in September/October with our club championships, which provide swimmers with entry times for the Gloucester County championships in the following Spring. Swimmers then go on to the Western Counties championships in June. We also take part in a selection of open meets throughout the year.

This year we will take part in four series of galas, these are the National League Western Division 1, the Mini Series, the Cotswold League and the Four Seasons for our younger swimmers. We also run home galas and take part in friendlies.

We are always happy to welcome new swimmers at all levels,  please contact our Chief Coach (e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) to arrange a trial.
