TO ALL SWIMMERS AND PARENTS It has been brought to our attention that there have been a few incidences of late regarding children messing around in the changing room area of Clifton High School Pool, in particular at Thursday’s swim school sessions. Some children have been alleged to have been using inappropriate language as well as throwing clothes around that are not necessarily theirs. This is obviously totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated as well as being distressing for those involved. May we remind you of the BHSC Swimmers Code of Conduct and Parents Code of Conduct which is also endorsed by the ASA. All members sign copies of these when joining the club. Please see link here, go to page 61/62: http://www.swimming.org/assets/uploads/library/00695ASA_Wavepower_A4_Section2_LR.pdf Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in a period of suspension. You are also reminded that unless a parent has been cleared by the Criminal Disclosure Board with the club, they are not permitted into the changing room area. Should there be an issue there is always someone around who will be able to help. Thank you for ensuring best practice is carried out at the club. |

The last normal session of this half term is on Friday 8th Feb. There are holiday sessions for some squads - please see below. Not sure which group you belong to? Click <here> to find out and please e-mail Jez if your name is missing! Swim school : last session of this half term is Thursday 7th Feb. There will be no swim school on Thursday 14th Feb. Sessions restart on Thurs 21st Feb. JD1 groups 1 and 2 : last session of this half term is Thursday 7th Feb for Group 1 and Friday 8th Feb for Group 2. There is no swimming for JD1 over the half term break and sessions restart on Mon 18th/Tues 19th Feb. Last session for AG1 is on Friday 8th Feb. Sessions restart on Mon 18th Feb. JD2 swimmers may swim on Tuesday 12th (7.00-7.45pm, 45mins only) and Friday 15th (7.15pm-8.00pm, 45mins only) at Horfield. AG2 and YS groups, sessions are: Tuesday 12th Feb, Horfield, 7pm to 9pm Thursday 14th Feb, Clifton, 6.15-6.45pm land training, 7.00-8.15pm swimming Friday 15th Feb, Horfield, 7.15pm-9.00pm Sun 17th - training as normal. |

New squads and training times were published at the start of January. Please note from Friday 1st February, swimmers need to make sure that they only turn up for their allocated sessions. Any swimmer who is not on the register for the session will not be allowed to swim. Please click <here> to view new squads. Juniors have been split into 3 groups, JD1 group 2 - darker pink(Horfield only, Tues+Fri) , JD1 group 1 - pale pink (Clifton only Mon+Thurs), and JD2. All requests for changes between the JD1 groups must be sent to Jez by e-mail .

FOUR SEASONS – 26th January 2013 What a good start to 2013 with us winning the Four Seasons - with first and second place very close we took the lead from Race 8 and then stayed within 10 points of Backwell the host club. We had 19 first places on the night which was outstanding. We managed 27 PB’s for individual races with PB’s of the night going to Madeleine Hollick with an amazing 5 sec PB in the 100IM and Alex Mamuda with a 5 sec PB in the 25 fly, Charlie Stokes with a 3 sec PB in 100IM and Josh Linton with 3 sec PB in the 50 breast. We dominated in the relays with the 9U girls relay team Francesca, Saskia, Catherine and Lulu, the 11U girls Lola, Alysia, Maddie and Grace, the 11U boys Oliver, Archie, Tom and Jacob and 12U boys Jacob, Josh, Joe and Charlie all winning both their relays. Thank you to the 11U girls who swam their relay and then raced back to the start to then do the 12U relay as well nothing like getting lots of swims in!!!!! Thank you to all the helpers on the night and to Jayne for a superb first gala of getting the swimmers to their races. Well done Team. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
A very big thank you to all those parents/carers who turned up to the Parents Forum last night and put themselves forward to volunteer! We will be in touch very soon with further information.
Meanwhile...we still need more help in what ever capacity you think you can offer, on a regular basis or as and when. Please get in touch for an informal chat or speak to someone poolside when you are next at a session for further information.
