Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club

It is time to prepare entries for the Gloucester County Championships (Blocks) 2013. Gloucester County have qualifying times for entry and these together with all the information you need to know can be found on the blocks dedicated website <click here > . The schedule of events is available <here> .

The BHSC  Results Database on the club website has a selection meet which gives the events swimmers have qualified for and their times: you will need to register with the website and log in to be able to access this page.. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that these times are correct there is always the possibility that swims have been missed or times are incorrect in which case please contact me before filling in your form. All forms have to be completed using a computer - hand written or altered forms will not be accepted and entries will be rejected by the meet orgainisers! It may be that you don’t have a time for an event you wish to enter in which case talk to Jez about the possibility of arranging a time trial.

An entry form is available to <download here> which you need to fill in,(doesn't work on an iPad) print out, and return with payment (cheques payable to Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club please). Your ASA number can be found on the British swimming website <click here > – just put in your surname and it will bring up a list. Please note that your age for these competitions is age on 31/03/2013.The entries are submitted electronically on a disc by the club and the original forms are also sent in by the club - individual entries are not accepted by the county from swimmers.

Please return the completed form with your cheque (payable to Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club) to Hilary or Kathryn  The deadline for return is Friday 23rd^th November 2012.

Finally all the sessions are at Gloucester Leisure Centre (GL1).

We have received the following information  from CoB about this weekend's open meet:

REMINDER:

We will also be operating a sign in process for the 400m events to ensure a maximum allocation of lanes per heat. Please note, ‘sign-in’ will not be enforced for the other events.

There is an onsite café – open from 8.00, we are working with Parkwood so they will know volumes of swimmers etc.

Car parking – three options are available:

We have procured additional space on site that will be free on a first come basis – this will be sign posted

There is free par parking @ Hengrove Park which is a leisure complex next to the swimming pool - post code - BS14 0HR. It is a bit of a drive between the two sites, but a 5 minute walk as there is a connecting path between the two complexes. Would suggest you drop off and then park up.

There is also the standard site car park, which is free for the first 3 hours only. If you choose to use this, then please see a CoB volunteer to minimise your cost. They will be easy to spot - a very nice shade of Turquoise has been chosen for their tee shirts!

Congratulations to the following swimmers who have broken club short course records this month. They are:

 Abi Bowring who has broken the 15yrs girls  100 back and 100 IM records, which were set over 5 years ago.

Archie Watts who has broken the 11yrs boys 50 back, 100 fly and 200 fly records.

Rory Maxwell who has broken his own record for the 11yrs 100 back.
