Training Sessions When starting you will need a swimming costume (swimming shorts or bikinis are not permitted), a pair of swimming goggles; a swimming hat and a towel. As you progress you will require a float, swimming fins and a pull bouy. These are available at most sports shops or from specialist online suppliers. Swimmers in development and up should always bring a drink with them to training sessions which should be brought to the poolside in a suitable plastic container. Galas and Competitions You should have a club swimming cap and a Bristol Henleaze club shirt to wear on poolside. Energy snacks are desirable, plenty to drink is obligatory, again in a plastic container. For longer competitions you may need to bring a suitable packed lunch. Some competitions have short races with long periods on inactivity inbetween so a book or mp3 player can help kill time if you are not up shouting for your team! You should also bring a spare towel as you may be in and out of the pool a number of times during a competition. (Club hats and shirts are available through the club kit co-ordinator.) |
