This event was for swimmers who had never taken part in a gala for us before. We had 8 swimmers from Swim School and 14 from Development. They all did exceptionally well and some say with less fuss than the older ones!!!
We had 8 first places from: Zack Elliot (25m free) Emily Porter (25m free and 25m kick) Daniel Hibbard (50m back) Maddie Cheesley (25m back) Dawn Richardson (25m fly) Morgane Sha’ban (50m breast) And the 4x 50m relay made up of Jorji Longdon, Hannah Stevens, Morgane Sha’ban and Dawn Richardson came home streets ahead of the rest!! What a way to end the evening.
Special mention goes to the swimmers who stood in for others and took part in events they were not expecting to. But swimmer of the night goes to Sam Gale who, at one point, was the only 11 year old boy on poolside. He not only did several events he wasn’t expecting, but had a HUGE smile on his face the whole time!
Certificates for all who took part will be with you this week. Look out for them!
