Round 2 of the Arena National League on 14th November was held at Hutton Moor. A solid team performance with no disqualifications gave us fourth place the same result as in R1 so well done to all swimmers. Thank you also to all officials and helpers. We had four individual winners ;- Oliver Eyre (2), Eddy Wragg and Rebecca Guy. Eddy had his first win at this level with a superb swim in the 100m backstroke for a 0.73 sec PB. There were five second places:- Abi Bowring (3), Rebecca Allen and Rebecca Guy and five third places:- James St Leger (2), Jane Garry, Harriet Mustard and Damian Williams. James did excellent times in both the 100m IM and 100m free and I hope all the young swimmers watched his starts which are exceptional. A special mention to Maddie Nairn who came into the team for her first gala for BHSC and did an excellent 0.95 sec PB in the 50m free and Luke Porter for his excellent 1.76 sec PB in the open mens 100m backstroke. The provisional result is: Southwold 228 Truro 209 City of Cardiff B 202 BHSC 155 Dinnaton 145 Stroud 106 Very many congratulations to Southwold for an outstanding gala win. The final is on Saturday 12th December and I will publish the team and the time and place next week so please put the date in your diaries.
