We are holding time trials at Horfield for JD1 plus invited swimmers, on Friday 28th June, 7pm to 9pm.

This will enable us to select swimmers of county qualifying standard for JD2 or AG2 from September. Swimmers who reach the age of 12 by the end of 2013 will be joining AG1 or AG2 depending on whether or not they have qualifying times. If you are currently in JD1 or JD2 and you will be 12 before Jan 2014 then your training sessions will be changing from September.

The squad structure is as follows:

JD1: 11 and under non-county standard

JD2:  11 and under but with county qualifying times

AG1: will be 12 by 31/12/2013 without county qualifying times

AG2: as above but with county qualifying times

As a guide, the qualifying times for 2013 can be found <here> and are based on age as at 31st March.

This year our swim camp will take place from Monday 19th August to Friday 23rd August, 9am to 4pm (precise times TBC) and is open to all BHSC swimmers (juniors and above).

Swimming will be based at Bristol University's pool beneath the Richmond Building (Students' Union) in Clifton and additional activities will use University facilities.

Swimmers will need to bring a packed lunch, drinks and kit.

 Cost : £180   Bookings taken from Monday 3rd June on a first come first served basis. Please return booking form and completed medical form to Hilary Marshall as soon as possible.

                            2013 Club Championships

BHSC Club Championships is an annual event, this year taking place from September 11th to November 7th. With the exception of the 1500m free and 400IM, the events swum are the same as for the Gloucester County Championships which take place from December 2013 to March 2014. Gloucester County use qualification times so it is very important for all swimmers to enter the club championships to gain these times. It is also an opportunity to gain individual times to help with gala selection (50m times are very important).

All sessions continue as normal up to and including Friday 24th May.  Swim School, JD1, AG1 and YS1 then take a 1 week break and sessions restart in the week beginning Mon 3^rd June.

Congratulations to Alysia and Grace who travelled to Crawley to compete in the IAPS National Schools Final on Saturday.

Grace had a fantastic swim, getting a PB in her 50m freestyle.

Alysia came away with a bronze medal for 50 backstroke.

Well done to both girls and also to Marco who supervised the warm up, proudly wearing his BHSC T-shirt
