A short guide to using the Bristol Henleaze Results Database.
BHSC Competition results are stored online in the Results database called team manager.
This is a third party application designed for recording and viewing individual event times. As a member swims in competition a record of results is built up on the database enabling swimmers and parents to monitor progress, viewing tables and plotting graphs of those times.
It is a useful resource and members are encouraged to use the facility to monitor there own progress. In order to access the database you need to be logged in to the BHSC website as a registered user; we dont let just anybody see our results!
Once logged in on the homepage you will see the 'BHSC Results Database' link appear on the main menu as shown here.
Click on the menu item and a new screen will open up into Team Manager Home Page as below.
The first thing you must do is click on the 'Athletes' button at the top of the page so an alphabetical list of members appears as shown below, then select the name you wish to view results for, Use the alphabetical short cuts indicated if required.
You must now select the course from the drop down list as shown here.
The majority of our competitions take place in a 25m pool known as Short Course Meters or SCM. So from the drop down list select SCM (or LCM for any results you may have had in a 50m Long Course pool). Now select the race distance and the number of recorded results you wish to view for this swimmer as follows:
You can then plot a chart of results which will look something like this, dependant on the number od results you have.
When you have finished viewing simply close the screen and log-out of the BHSC website.
New results are usually posted up fairly promptly after they are received, but this may take a few days.
You will see other selections available at the head of the screen which give results by a particular event or squad. Playing around with the options is the best way to learn; you cant break it ! But as always if you have any qestions please ask!
